Setting the agenda on report assurance

HP, Symantec, ExxonMobil, Juniper Networks and Intel were among the major US corporations to take part in a roundtable event hosted by Two Tomorrows in San Francisco in April.

The event, the latest in a series of quarterly roundtables run by the Two Tomorrows North American subsidiary, was devoted to a discussion of good practice in the assurance of sustainability and corporate responsibility reports.

Run by Dr Todd Cort, chief executive officer of Two Tomorrows (North America) Inc, and Jon Woodhead, group services director for Two Tomorrows Group, the workshop focused on the business case for assurance, the pros and cons of the various assurance standards, and tips for making assurance cost effective.

Todd says: "There was a strong positive response. Everyone commented on how useful the information was, and in particular how valuable it was to bring together companies all at the same stage of considering their approach to assurance. The chance to discuss ideas and challenges was welcomed by all."

The roundtable events are for CSR and sustainability managers and directors and their colleagues. They provide opportunities for delegates to learn from each other and hear a variety of perspectives in a confidential and creative setting. They are run in Europe and Korea as well as in the US.
