Oil and gas sustainability reporting guidance: Your chance to comment

Published on: May 21, 2009

The International Petroleum Industry Environmental Conservation Association (IPIECA) is seeking to update the IPIECA/API Oil and Gas Industry Guidance on Sustainability Reporting to encourage better and more comparable reporting in the industry.

IPIECA wants to revise the guidance to bring greater precision to indicator definitions and voluntary sustainability reporting protocols. This will facilitate benchmarking and promote performance improvements. A panel of external expert stakeholders is providing detailed recommendations, and IPIECA is now seeking feedback from other stakeholders on the existing guidance and how it can be improved.

The consultation is open until 15 August 2009.
