Benchmarking Heathrow's stakeholder dialogue
Published on: Sep 17, 2012
Noise is probably the biggest sustainability issue for Heathrow Airport. It is certainly the most emotive for local stakeholders, dominating debates about current and future operations. The way Heathrow communicates about noise is therefore a crucial element of building good relationships with stakeholders and will influence its licence to operate for the foreseeable future.
As part of its Noise Action Plan, Heathrow committed to gaining an independent assessment of its noise communications against global peers. Two Tomorrows and DNV were selected to deliver this assessment because of our deep aviation knowledge and our expertise in benchmarking, stakeholder engagement and sustainability communications.
Sustainability services director Jason Perks comments: “The skills and experience of Two Tomorrows and DNV created a winning combination. We were able to offer a unique multidisciplinary service that impressed Heathrow.”
The project ran over the summer with the outputs contributing to a programme of work Heathrow is undertaking to address stakeholders concerns about noise.
