DNV surveyorDNV, the international risk management company, has acquired Two Tomorrows Group, further expanding its sustainability consulting service capability across the globe.

Bjorn K. Haugland, DNV Group chief technology and sustainability officer, says: “This acquisition brings together two organisations that have been supporting sustainability as it has evolved over the last 30 years. Our vision of building a safe and sustainable future means we are delighted to invest in the expansion of Two Tomorrows and provide a unique power to build trust with environmental, social and governance management.”

The announcement comes shortly after DNV announced the acquisition of 74.3% of the shares of the Dutch energy knowledge company KEMA to jointly create the world-leading energy consulting, testing and certification company DNV KEMA Energy & Sustainability.

Mr Haugland continues: “By joining forces with Two Tomorrows, we aim to become the trusted, independent experts in sustainability to global business and governments. I am proud that this experienced team has joined DNV, and I believe our unique blend of world-class risk and sustainability skills and knowledge will be unrivalled.”

Strategic fit

Two Tomorrows executive chairman Mark Line says: “Given our pioneering role in shaping the thinking around sustainability and corporate responsibility, becoming part of the DNV family provides us with a great opportunity to grow our business. It is a strategic fit, as we both share the same values and global commitment.

“We will continue to support companies and governments as they strive to meet not only the increasingly complex challenges, but also the growing sustainability expectations of the future.

Two Tomorrows executive chairman Mark Line shakes hands with Aage Enghaug, head of corporate communications at DNV. They are joined by Karen Dodds, left, managing director of Two Tomorrows and project manager responsible for the Two Tomorrows-DNV integration and Mette Eriksen, head of DNV Sustainability Risk Management“We are all aware of the continuing corporate scandals that undermine many claims about sustainable business practice. Working with our new colleagues in DNV, we will not shy away from telling the truth and advising our clients to do the right things in the right way.”

DNV will now look carefully at the two companies’ strengths to see how to expand operations in Europe, the US and Asia.

Two Tomorrows will become part of DNV KEMA Energy & Sustainability, one of the three companies within the DNV Group.

DNV has a global presence with a network of 300 offices in 100 countries, and is headquartered in Oslo, Norway. DNV serves a range of high-risk industries, with a special focus on the maritime and energy sectors.
