Report assurance for global consumer products giant
Kimberly-Clark, a world-leading consumer products company with 56,000 employees and operations in 35 countries, retained Two Tomorrows (North America) to conduct an independent assurance of its online and print summary sustainability reports for 2009.
We conducted a comprehensive assurance process using AA1000AS (2008) to evaluate the materiality, completeness and responsiveness of Kimberly-Clark’s reporting.
We interviewed a range of senior managers as well as staff responsible for collecting performance data. Informational key claims, with the exception of financial information related to Kimberly-Clark’s annual report, were included in the scope of our assurance engagement. We used the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Quality of Information Principles as criteria for evaluating performance information.
We provided a brief assurance statement in the online report and made detailed recommendations separately to the client.
