CR report assurance using AA1000AS

Two Tomorrows acted as independent assurance providers on the Alfred McAlpine corporate responsibility report 2005. This involved interviews with senior managers to review corporate business risk and management processes, internal data validation systems, safety, health and environmental management and objectives as well as governance arrangements from Group to site levels.

In addition, we interviewed employees who provided data for the report and carried out visits to the company’s sites around the UK to check specific data and claims.

The process was conducted with reference to the AA1000 Assurance Standard (AA1000AS).

As part of the independent assurance process, we made recommendations to Alfred McAlpine on the development of the company’s approach to stakeholder engagement, and suggested a more systematic approach.
