Benchmarking and long-term strategic advice
Shell International asked us to provide a detailed benchmarking report on its non-financial performance. We used our Accountability Rating methodology to assess the oil major across a wide range of criteria, and drew on data from our annual application of the Rating to the world’s largest companies to compare Shell’s performance with leaders in accountability and its peers in the oil and chemicals sector. The resulting report provided Shell with a comprehensive picture of how it measured up in each of the six domains of the Rating. We also recommended ways it could improve its accountability, backed up by examples of best practice.
Separately, we have contributed to the scenario-development work that Shell is famous for. We provided insight into sustainability trends which might impact on its business and the wider oil and gas industry.
