Assurance for pioneering Italian venture
We assured the first sustainability report by the Italian organisation that is redeveloping large parts of Milan to create two huge international exhibition centres. The three companies that make up the Milan Exhibition System (Fondazione Fiera Milano, Sviluppo Sistema Fiera, and Gruppo Fiera Milano) issued their first sustainability reports in 2009, and also integrated them in a combined report, which we assured.
We carried out the assurance in accordance with the AA1000 Assurance Standard (AA1000AS), evaluating it against the three key AA1000AS principles of inclusivity, materiality and responsiveness. We found that the report meets the B+ level under the Global Reporting Initiative’s sustainability reporting guidelines.
