Assurance since 2003 for major utility
We have acted as independent report assurance provider on the Scottish Power annual corporate responsibility report since 2003.
The report is web-based, is structured around 12 priority impact areas as identified by Scottish Power. Our work has involved checking the claims made in the report, and reviewing Scottish Power’s arrangements for managing sustainability issues.
We have undertaken interviews with senior managers, site visits and a detailed review of figures in the report and the company’s data collation systems. We conduct the assurance process in accordance with the AA1000 Assurance Standard (AA1000AS).
In addition, in 2009 we advised on and reviewed Scottish Power's application to the UK's Green Energy Supply Certification Scheme through our green tariff verification service. The application was successful and the company is now able to use the 'Green Energy Certified' label to promote its Simply Green tariff.
