Walking the talk
A passionate commitment to sustainable development is at the heart of the way Two Tomorrows works.
Our biggest contribution is the influence we exert on the activities of our clients, who include many of the world’s largest companies and together have sizeable economic, social and environmental impacts. The ultimate aim of all of the advice and services we provide is to help create a more sustainable future.
Meanwhile, we strive to manage our own direct impacts. Chief among these is the climate impact of our business travel. Because we work with global companies and frequently need to visit their sites worldwide, this is a significant challenge. Of course, we aim to avoid unnecessary travel whenever we can, using IT solutions instead. When we do travel, as far as practicable we avoid flying and use public transport. While we realise off-setting is only part of the solution, we work with Carbon Offsets Ltd in the UK to buy high-quality, verified offsets for all our business travel.
In September 2009, we signed up to the 10:10 grassroots environmental campaign, committing ourselves to trying to reduce our corporate carbon emissions by 10 per cent in 2010. Our corporate blog Towards Sustainable Business includes posts about how we are grappling with the challenge of reducing our carbon footprint.
Our staff and associate relationships are our greatest asset, and we are committed to developing these in line with our business goals. We use IT to support sharing of knowledge and information wherever we operate in the world.
We are also committed to finding the most sustainable solution when buying goods and services, while accepting that decisions are not always clear cut.
